Where the word comes from

The English word person traces directly to the Latin persōna, meaning a mask. Specifically, the carved wooden or clay mask worn by actors in Roman and Greek theatre, covering the whole head and exaggerating the character being played.

"From Latin persona, human being, personage; a part in a drama, assumed character; originally a mask, a false face, such as those of wood or clay, covering the whole head, worn by the actors in later Roman theater."
Online Etymology Dictionary

The Romans inherited the idea from the Greeks, whose word for the same theatrical mask was πρόσωπον (prósōpon), literally "the face turned toward" the audience. Not the actor. The character.

So when the system calls you a person

It is naming the mask, not the one wearing it. The character on the page, the role assigned, the strawman in ALL CAPS, the corporation opened in your name at birth, that is the persona. A part in a drama written by someone else.

You are the one behind it.

The publisher

Money is going digital. The only question is whose.

Unmasked is published by The Zero Trust Network. Most of what you have seen sold as "crypto" was the distraction: loud, scammy, and useful to the people who never wanted you to look further. We are what was being built underneath, while everyone else was busy laughing at the surface.
